Andra Day and Andi Matichak
Cassandra Monique Batie, professionally called Andra day, is an American R&B singer-songwriter. The accolades she has received include the Grammy Award as well as a Children's and Family Emmy Award as well as a Golden Globe Award. She is also nominated for the Academy Award. Andra Day is a powerful artist and songwriter with a unique voice. She does not just play throwback R&B specialist. Her roots are in gospel music and blues performed with ease and grace are carried into the present. Her debut album Cheers to the Fall (2015) was an instant hit in the R&B/hiphop genre and led to a number of Grammy and Academy Award nominations. Stand Up for Something (2017), her contribution to Marshall's soundtrack was awarded both of these awards. Anticipation for her second proper album has been building by releasing singles like Amen (2018) along with Making Your Troubles Go Away (2020) and the Golden Globe-winning portrayal of Billie Holiday in The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021). Andra is born Cassandra Monique Batie on Edmonds Washington. Growing up living in San Diego and surrounding areas She began singing in the church and was enrolled into The School of Creative and Performing Arts. When she was a teenager she listened to modern R&B songs and eventually pop. However, her heart was always attracted to traditional soul and jazz singers. Kai Millard Morris was able to catch a performance she gave and then brought Day's music home with him. Motown legend Adrian Gurvitz connected Day and the veteran businessman in music. In partnership to Gurvitz as well as Jeffrey Evans' Buskin label Day gained a large popularity on YouTube and later signed with major-label Warner Bros. n 2012 Day released her debut single Forever Mine on YouTube. DJs began playing the track in radio stations. She subsequently was signed to Warner Bros. Records and started cooperating with her producer, Adrian Gurvitz to record her debut album, Cheers to the fall (2015). The track "Rise Up" became a global anthem within social justice movements. Day earned 2 Grammy nominations for the album, including Best R&B Album. The United States Versus Billie Holiday was her second studio album that was released in the year 2019 and an album that was conceptually based on the life of Billie Holiday. She also starred in The United States vs. Billie Holiday, a film about Holiday. Andi Matichak is an American actor. She first appeared in the film Halloween as Allyson and was later seen in numerous television shows like Orange Is the New Black (Orange is the new black) 666 Park Avenue (666 Park Avenue) and Blue Bloods and Orange Is the New Black. Andi Mattichak was born the 3rd of May, 1994 in Framingham Mass.
